Surprising Dec. District Novice Teacher of the Month

(January 16, 2026) – Let’s hear it for Mr. Colton Vonder Bruegge of Harrison Central High School! He’s our December District Novice Teacher of the Month winner.

We surprised Mr. Vonder Bruegge with the exciting news this afternoon. He received a certificate of recognition, a $50 gift card, teacher supplies, and balloons from the Huntington Learning Center.

“Colton Vonder Bruegge is the kind of support that makes HC stronger every day. As an inclusion teacher, he goes above and beyond to ensure our students are successful, and his commitment doesn’t stop in the classroom—he also invests his time and heart coaching girls soccer and baseball. His dedication to students, academics, and extracurriculars truly embodies HC pride,” said HCHS Principal Rachel Burt.
